The Food and Drug Administration, on September 28, 2010, issued an advisory urging pet owners not to buy medicines for animals that are offered at discounted prices online. The announcement comes after the FDA reportedly found companies that distribute prescription drugs without requiring prescriptions from veterinarians, and that market counterfeit products and unapproved drugs.
